Comparing Relative Bond Characteristics Between Spherical and Elongated Morphologies for Cold Spray Process Using SPH Simulation

چکیده

Abstract Under cold spray conditions, the modified Johnson–Cook model was adopted to perform single and multiple particle simulation for spherical elongated aluminum alloy- Al-6061 feedstock particles. The splat formations were realistically presented; temperature evolution throughout deposition process stayed below melting point of Al-6061, particles exhibited restitution impact velocities lower than 200 m/s. Feedstock with morphology experienced a elastic strain energy level after impact, which implied relative bond strength higher displacement curves in simulations both morphologies suggested greater shock upon impact. achieved by even though showed individually embedded substrate.

Simulation of Cold Rolling Process Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH)

Regarding the reported capabilities and the simplifications of the smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method, as a mesh-free technique in numerical simulations of the deformation processes, a 2-D approach on cold rolling process was provided. Using and examining SPH on rolling process not only caused some minor developments on SPH techniques but revealed some physical realities. The chosen t...

Powder Stream Characteristics in Cold Spray Nozzles

The exponential increase of industrial demand in the past two decades has led scientists to the development of alternative technologies for the fast manufacturing of engineering components, aside from standard and time consuming techniques such as casting or forging. Cold Spray (CS) is a newly developed manufacturing technique, based upon the deposition of metal powder on a substrate due to hig...

Modeling and Simulation of Spherical and ‎Cylindrical Contact Theories for Using in ‎the Biological Nanoparticles Manipulation

The low Young's modulus of biological particles results in their large deformation against the AFM probe forces; therefore, it is necessary to study the contact mechanics of bioparticles in order to predict their mechanical behaviors. This paper specifically deals with the contact mechanics of DNA nanoparticles with spherical and cylindrical shapes during manipulation. In previous studies, ...

SPH in spherical and cylindrical coordinates

New kernel functions for spherically, planar and cylindrically symmetric problems are developed, based on the fundamental interpolation theory of SPH. The Lagrangian formalism is used to derive the corresponding set of modified SPH equations of motion. The results show good agreement both with analytical and numerical results, in the case of the Sod shock tube test, the Noh infinite shock probl...
